Zulte - Waregem : They have been a pleasant surprise so far. Their new coach, who used to work in Dutch Eredivisie, lets them play attractive football so far. 2 of their 3 games have gone over. In their last home game against Leuven, they played a great first half. Score should haven been much more then 2-0 at HT. Last week they deserved to win at Genk but i dont think much about that cuz Genk is on a bad streak at the moment. Waregem will miss defender D'Haene tonight as he is out due to injury. Not bad for our bet as D'Haene is a solid defender and will be replaced by lesser quality.
Club Brugge :
Not much to say about Brugge concerning this bet as coach Koster prefers attacking soccer and always goes for victory. Last match wasnt all that good (1-0 win over Leuven). Off course they deserved to win but they did not create much chances cuz Leuven played very defensive football. I think strikers and midfielders of Brugge will have much more space cuz Waregem will surely play more offensive. Even against a small team like Leuven, i saw that defenders of Brugge made some mistakes, so their defense isnt surely their best part. (in their midweek EL game against Zestafoni they managed to concede 3 goals)
Conclusion :
1.90 is a great price here for the over. Besides this is a local derby where the small team wanna perform well against the giant so i expect a intense game with at least 3 goals. Personnaly i think Brugge will not loose here but over seems the better bet to take.

I must admit that a AH of (-1.75) is pretty big here in Belgium soccer. This would mean that Brugge have to win with 3 goals difference to obtain a full win, but i think it is possible.
Lets take a look at the last 2 games of Brugge and Leuven. Brugge showed two faces so far. Pretty weak in the first half against Westerlo and in the 2nd half against STVV. But the other 2 halfs were very impressive. Ok, they got a little bit lucky against Westerlo. An owngoal and a red card gave them wings, but scoring 5 times against a defensive team like Westerlo is more than decent. A lot of people were also impressed with their first half at STVV. (the best they seen in a long time according to lots of people). But for some reason everything collapsed in the second half. And STVV was able to equalise in the dying seconds of the game. I expected a very motivated Brugge tonight cuz they surely wanna erase their draw of last week after being up by 3 goals.
Leuven surprised the first game with a win over Anderlecht. But Anderlecht surely wasnt at his best. Besides Leuven playing at home or away is not the same thing. Last week they played a horrible first half (their second half was a bit better). Waregem should have been up by 3 or 4 goals. Waregem could not maintain their level of play in the second half and Leuven managed to score once. But overall a poor performance by them. It seems they lack quality to stay up this year. So i expect a hard year for them. Hopefully they can buy some new players.
So we have a huge quality difference between the two sides. Brugge showed already great football (hopefully it will last more than 45mins this time). Brugge plays at home (sold out). So big support and when they are able to score in the opening 15minutes of the game i would not be surprised to see a huge home win.

As u can see i am no big fan of playing over/under bets, but i think this price is too good to let go.
Gent likes offensive football and there coach prefers a 4-3-3 line up. In previous matches results of Gent were pretty poor, but they created tons of chances. So i have no reason to believe this should be any different tonight. So lots of offensive power with players like Coulibaly, El Ghanassy ,Ljubijankič. They even got the luxury of putting a great talent like Soumahoro on the bench (he just returned after injury).
Another great asset for our bet is the defensive errors of Gent. Although their first keeper returns to the squad tonight, i do not rate their defenders all that high. Standard should be more than able to benefit from Gent's poor defense.
Standard lost some great players and they werent replaced by equal quality. Standard's best part of the team is also their attackers. Nong, Tchite and midfielders like Van Damme are able to score a goal anytime. For example their last match against Lokeren was pretty poor, but still they scored 3 times.
So all in all a pretty straightforward bet but i like to mention that i prefer over 2.5 iso 2.75 but i could not find any asian bookie for that and i prefer verified odds so i will go for over 2.75 as i see at least 3 goals scored here.

Waregem played a more than decent game first game at Lokeren. Lokeren should be considered as one of the better teams (after the top 5) this season. So playing 0-0 at Lokeren is a good result. Further more they werent even playing that bad and the draw was more than deserved. But i have to admit that Waregem is at its best in an underdog role. That wont be the case today as i rate Leuven much weaker.
Waregem got a new coach this season. Some bloke form East of Europe. He coached a Dutch team last season. He is known for his discipline and defensive view on the game. So another bad thing for our bet, but still i think Waregem will win tonight. They also bought some new players, mostly unknown to me. But who showed some pieces of skill in pre season friendly games.
Leuven promoted last year, but wasnt the best the team in 2nd division. Esp. playing away from their were pretty weak. They won their first game this season against Anderlecht. Big upset here, but Leuven's first half was pretty bad. Anderlecht got a red card after 30min and Lukaku missed pk when the score was still 0-0. + Anderlecht missed big chance when leading 0-1. Leuven's second half was much better and they managed to equalise and score the winner in the dying minutes of the game. But overall a pretty weak performance of Leuven against a very poor Anderlecht.
The win against Anderlecht might gave them a boost but quality of the players is just poor. Waregem might be some kind of surprise this season so a home win against a potential relegation team is a must.

Last match of the first round here in Belgium. Both clubs were already active in the first rounds of the Europa League.
Club Brugge should be one of main candidates for winning the championship. They almost bought a whole new team. Only 3 or 4 players who played last year are expected to start today. New players to watch are Vlemincx (topscorer of Holland last season), Refaelov (best player in Israel last year) and Vasquez (B-squad Barca). But i guess their main signing could be Zimling (Def. Midfielder of NEC). I think he will be the missing link between defensive and the offensive side of the squad. Brugge have alot of attacking players and their coach likes offensive football. So Zimling could be very important for the balance in the team.
Westerlo on the other hand lost their 2 best players (Henrique and Iakovenko) and did not buy any big names. Striker Desmet should be their main signing. He was a big talent a couple of years ago, but couldnt live up to the expectations yet. (but wont play tonight) Westerlo is a rather defensive orientated side although their coach prefers offensive football. But i guess they lack a bit of creativity and therefor they dont conceede all that much and do not score that much either.
But i think Brugge will be highly motivated for their first home match of this competition. Last thursday they scored 4 times against a very defensive team in EL. Westerlo will certainly play a bit more offensive and this will give the attackers of Brugge a bit more space. Defense of Brugge is all that good so i would not be suprised if Westerlo managed to score.
